Experienced IBDP & IGCSE Science & Math Tutor
À propos
I am a highly qualified Science and Math educator and an experienced online tutor with a proven track record of delivering IB, IGCSE, A-Level, and MYP curricula. Since 2010, I have provided targeted academic instruction across multiple educational boards (including CBSE, ICSE, and HSC), and have been conducting dedicated online tutoring sessions for international students since 2015.
Currently, I serve as an IB and IGCSE Biology Teacher and Assistant IBDP Coordinator at the School of the Nations in Taipa, Macau. My institutional teaching experience is deeply informed by my extensive assessment expertise: I have served as an IB Examiner for HL Paper 2 and Internal Assessment since 2014, and as an IGCSE Examiner for Paper 4 since 2023.
I hold an M.A. in Education from the University of Bath and an M.Tech Integrated in Biotechnology from Dr. D. Y. Patil University, where I graduated as a Gold Medalist. To further support diverse learners in virtual environments, I also hold a 120-hour TEFL Certification from the University of Ontario. I am proficient in MS Office, HTML, and digital learning platforms, and excel at designing syllabus-aligned materials, breaking down complex scientific concepts, and providing constructive, assessment-driven feedback. I am known for fostering strong, communicative relationships with both students and parents. I am dedicated to leveraging my academic rigor and examiner insights to help learners achieve their highest potential through online education.

Méthodes pédagogiques
Having spent over a decade teaching science and mathematics online and serving as a senior examiner for both the IBDP and iGCSE, I have developed a teaching philosophy that is firmly rooted in understanding exactly how students think, where they stumble, and—crucially—what assessment criteria demand. My sessions are structured around active problem-solving rather than passive lecture; I guide students through carefully sequenced questions that mirror the cognitive demand of real examination papers, prompting them to articulate their reasoning aloud before I intervene. Because I have marked thousands of scripts, I can pinpoint the precise language, notation, and logical progression that distinguish a top-band response from a mid-range one, and I build that awareness directly into every lesson. I lean heavily on diagnostic questioning at the start of each session to identify misconceptions, then scaffold from the concrete to the abstract using dynamic visualisations, digital whiteboards, and interactive simulations that make abstract concepts—whether stoichiometry, calculus, or wave interference—tangible on screen. I also train students in exam craft: command-word decoding, time allocation, and the art of showing method marks even under pressure. Above all, I foster a growth mindset, celebrating the productive struggle of a difficult problem as much as the correct answer, because I have seen, year after year, that the students who learn to interrogate their own working are the ones who walk into the examination hall with genuine confidence rather than fragile memorisation.
