About

Born in France. After starting scientific studies (medicine in Lille, up to and including third year), I changed direction toward more literary studies: philosophy at Nanterre (master's thesis topic: the sublime in Simone Weil), stage directing in Moscow. I have been teaching for more than 15 years and work on my own productions as a director and screenwriter, and this year I am in an artist's residency in Corsica. Over the years I have tutored many students, particularly in preparation for the philosophy baccalaureate and the French baccalaureate. I have worked with many different profiles, with "good" students wanting to gain points on their exams as well as with students in difficulty (not understanding the subject and its methodology, having trouble expressing their ideas and building arguments, or even expressing themselves in writing in general)
The results obtained at the baccalaureate by the students I have had over the years, good, even very good grades, prove that with an effective methodology and consistent follow-up, progress is guaranteed and that sometimes, excellence is achieved.

Teaching methods

One must always work on two fronts. First, method: convey a rigorous method, with tools allowing the different problems to be solved precisely and in a structured way. Then, flexibility: provide practice and confidence that allow adaptation to the various tasks to be solved. It is about learning to work no longer in a stereotyped way, but independently and thoughtfully.
I adapt to the student's level and offer them appropriate teaching material so that they can, on the one hand, master the method required by the subject and, on the other hand, develop knowledge and a specific culture allowing them to progress and unlock their potential in the subject.
The essential thing for me is to structure the teaching over the year in an optimal yet flexible way (regularly adjusting the time needed on a notion according to the understanding of the major problems it raises and the concepts one can think of to find a solution), to engage students in a process of independent work by giving them the opportunity to get ahead on upcoming lessons (for example through a filmed oral presentation, or by orally exploring a text chosen from a series of proposed texts...) and above all to design numerous teaching tools in the form of mind maps, fill-in-the-blank texts, multiple choice questions...
Homework and its regular checking are essential in order to identify difficulties as they arise and allow steady progress.
Furthermore, depending on the student's availability, we try to schedule as many mock exams as possible throughout the year.
The work schedule for the year is established with the student, according to their availability, during the first sessions. It can be reworked depending on possible absences or difficulties encountered by the student on a given point of the course.
