Student at Sciences Po, tutoring from Year 7 (6ème) to Terminale (final year of French high school)
About
My name is Nathan, from Thionville. I am currently a dual degree student between Sciences Po Paris and Hong Kong University, a path that led me to leave France to pursue my studies in Asia.
In high school, I obtained my baccalauréat général with high distinction (mention Très Bien), with a 20/20 in the HGGSP specialty and 18/20 in the French baccalauréat exam. These results mainly reflect a working method that I now try to pass on to my students.
For two years, I have been giving private tutoring alongside my studies, in order to finance my education between France and Hong Kong. I support students from Year 7 (6ème) to Terminale, in many subjects: mathematics, French, languages (English, LLCE, AMC), HGGSP, SES, HLP, philosophy, as well as preparation for the Sciences Po and IEP entrance exams.
My method rests on three pillars: understanding concepts in depth rather than learning them by heart, practicing regularly on real exam topics until the reflexes are ingrained, and above all regaining self-confidence, often the real obstacle to a student's progress. Lessons take place via video call, with a first free session and no obligation.
Curious about languages and cultures, I am a native French speaker, an English speaker at C1 level, and I also practice German at B2 level. This linguistic sensitivity directly feeds into my teaching, especially with a bilingual audience.
Whether for regular support, a one-off refresher, or targeted preparation for a specific deadline, I adapt to each student's starting point and goals, never considering a level as fixed. My goal: to help each student progress sustainably, at their own pace.

Teaching experience
1 to 3 years of teaching
Supported students for the brevet, all of whom passed the exam with an average of 79.
Being bilingual myself, I have helped many students improve their English, both spoken and written.
Whether for the brevet, the French baccalauréat, or spelling, I have supported more than ten students in French during the 2025-2026 school year.
Taught Sciences Po students Ancient philosophy.
Supported a 9th grade student (3ème) who passed the brevet with distinction (mention bien), scoring 32/40 in history, starting from an original average of 08 in October.
I am a student myself and experienced the Parcoursup pressure not long ago, so I can help you think calmly and make the wisest decision regarding your academic future.
Supported two Terminale students in SES, who went respectively from 10 to 14 and from 13 to 17 in the baccalauréat.
Helped a Terminale student go from a 10 to a 15 average, eventually achieving a score of 16 in the baccalauréat.
I took this option myself and, in addition to my law courses at Sciences Po, I am able to teach the DGEMC option.
Having scored 20/20 in Terminale, I supported a high-level athlete student taking the baccalauréat in September.
Teaching methods
- High distinction in the baccalauréat, 20/20 in HGGSP, 18/20 in the French baccalauréat exam: I took these exams not long ago, so I know firsthand what the stress of specialties, continuous assessment, and the Grand Oral feels like. And two years of teaching have taught me to explain things in several ways until it really clicks.

- In practice, my sessions revolve around three things:
- Understand - go back to the root of concepts, without assuming that "it should already be known"
- Practice - work on real exam topics, with precise corrections repeated until the reflex sets in
- Believe in it - many blockages come from a label ("I'm bad at math", "I freeze during oral exams") that we end up dismantling with concrete results
