International background and languages
Trilingual in French, English, Spanish. 12 years spent abroad and two years working in Madrid. I have first hand knowledge of the two systems followed by most expatriate families in Hong Kong: the French system and the Anglo Saxon system.
Teaching
I have not taught in a school setting. My experience in teaching comes from banking, where training juniors on technical subjects and making complex reasoning clear are part of everyday work. Subjects: mathematics, economics, accounting and finance, English and Spanish, up to Baccalauréat / IB / A level standard and first year of university.
Master in Management, Audencia Business School.

Teaching experience
1 to 3 years of teaching
I taught math to middle school, high school and undergraduate students during my high school years and then during my bachelor's and master's degrees. My career took over from there: as an investment banking analyst, I build and audit financial models on a daily basis, which means working with percentages, sequences, functions and probabilities on real cases. In middle and high school, I cover algebra, functions, derivatives, sequences, probability and statistics, geometry, as well as the Maths Specialty track and the Maths Complementaires option. I also prepare students for the French Baccalauréat exams and international programs (IB, A levels, AP Calculus), which I am familiar with having followed the American curriculum myself alongside the French Baccalauréat. What most often causes difficulty is not the current chapter but a prerequisite poorly understood two years earlier: I prefer to go back over it properly rather than stacking up methods learned by rote.
Holder of an American diploma in addition to the French Baccalauréat, I was educated and then worked in English for most of my career: twelve years abroad, followed by a career in investment banking where English is the daily working language, currently in Hong Kong. I have supported high school and university students with exam preparation, written expression and public speaking. I cover both academic English (grammar, comprehension, essays) and applied English: interviews, presentations, economic and financial vocabulary for students aiming for international programs or internships.
Trilingual in French, English and Spanish, I lived and worked for two years in Madrid, at Société Générale CIB, in a Spanish speaking environment on a daily basis. I have supported middle and high school students in Spanish with grammar, conjugation and especially oral expression, which is the most common sticking point before exams. My approach favors practice: we speak from the first lesson onward, even if mistakes are made, and we build vocabulary around topics that genuinely interest the student rather than through lists to memorize.
French tutoring for middle school, high school and undergraduate students, given during my high school years and then during my bachelor's and master's degrees. I have supported students with one off needs (a poorly understood concept, a test or an oral exam to prepare for) as well as with long term support, working in depth on method: building an outline, structuring an argument, correcting written expression. As a holder of the French Baccalauréat, I know the requirements of the curriculum (commentaire, dissertation, the EAF oral exam). I also teach French as a second language to students enrolled in the Anglo Saxon system, a common case in Hong Kong.
This is the subject that most directly overlaps with my career. As an Investment Banking Analyst in Hong Kong, after Société Générale CIB in Madrid and BNP Paribas Asset Management in Paris, I work every day on corporate financing, capital markets and credit. I supported high school students in SES (Social and Economic Sciences) during my studies and I can illustrate every concept in the curriculum with a concrete case: market mechanisms, money and the financing of the economy, monetary and fiscal policy, growth, international trade, unemployment. I cover the curriculum for Seconde, Première and Terminale, including the Specialty track, and preparation for both the composed written exam and the dissertation: this is often where the grade is decided, more than on knowledge itself. For students aiming for business school or an economics program, I also work on economic culture and oral argumentation.
Teaching methods
My method always starts from the student's school system. Having prepared for both the French Baccalauréat and the American diploma, I know the expectations of both formats: rigor of written reasoning on the French side, consistency of ongoing work and clarity of argumentation on the American side.
I start with a one session diagnostic: what the student has mastered, where they really get stuck, how they work on their own. I then build a plan by objectives (tests, exams, applications) rather than open ended follow up.
In practice, I explain using real examples drawn from my work in finance: a percentage exercise becomes a return calculation, an economics essay is based on an actual transaction. Students remember better what is useful.
Lessons in French, English or Spanish: useful for expatriate families.
