Hi, my name is Jules Reilhac. I'm a French student at ESSEC in Singapore as a bachelor of business administration. I am from Paris where I studied until the end of high school.

About

I am fluent in both French and English. English thanks to my Singaporean mother who made me practice and took me around the world so I could train through daily conversations. I have been coming to Singapore since I was born for holidays to see my family. So even though it is the first time I will be living in Singapore I am quite familiar with the place. I am also capable of teaching math as I kept the subject throughout high school and had a 16/20 in math at the french Baccalauréat.

Mathematics

For the past year I have been tutoring a French student in math. She was in 3e; during the year her grades were around 14/20, and for the brevet her final grade in math was a 16/20. During the classes we would review the lesson than do exercises that I brought that were related to the class.

Teaching methods

What I was usually doing was helping students with their homework, but on the side I was also doing more advanced teaching. For the homework I would ask them to tell me everything they knew about the subject, and then we would see if they had any difficulties and carry on with the exercise. If we were doing more advanced work, then I would come with some exercise either from a book or that I had created. We would then practise, and I explained what we were doing.

The fact that my mother is a teacher in primary school helped me acquire a good method for my tutoring.
