Experienced international IB tutor with 6 years of online teaching experience
About
I am an experienced online IB tutor with six years of experience and more than 1,000 hours of live online tuition. I teach Biology, European History, and English Language and Literature to international students, supporting them with everything ranging from content revision, Internal Assessments, Extended Essays, mock examinations, and final exam preparation. I have also delivered intensive online revision courses for established IB schools and hosted global online IB webinars for audiences of more than 150 students.
My academic background includes an MSc in Molecular Biotechnology from the Universitat de Barcelona, completed with Distinction, and a First-Class BSc in Biomedical Sciences from Cardiff University. I completed the IB Diploma Programme at Malmö Borgarskola with 43/45, giving me first-hand understanding of the programme’s academic demands.
Beyond tutoring, I have created educational videos, subject guides, and Theory of Knowledge resources for a leading international IB education provider. I have also managed tutor recruitment and quality assurance, vetting and onboarding more than 150 IB teachers. These experiences have strengthened my ability to communicate clearly, maintain high teaching standards, and work effectively with students, families, and educators from different countries and backgrounds.

Teaching experience
I have six years of teaching and tutoring experience, working with students at secondary, IB Diploma and bachelor level. For IB students, I have taught Biology, History, English A and Theory of Knowledge, combining subject review with focused preparation for essays, examinations and internal assessments. In Biology, I help students understand how individual topics connect, explain difficult scientific processes clearly and apply their knowledge to unfamiliar data and exam questions. In History and English, I focus on developing well-structured arguments, close analysis and the effective use of textual or historical evidence rather than relying on memorized answers. I also guide TOK students in questioning assumptions, evaluating different perspectives and expressing complex ideas with greater precision. My academic background in the life sciences allows me to support more advanced subjects such as biochemistry, biotechnology, human biology, and molecular and cellular biology. Across all subjects, I adapt my explanations, materials and pace to the student’s level, confidence and academic goals.
Teaching methods
My lessons are structured around each student’s current level, goals, deadlines and preferred way of learning. I begin by identifying knowledge gaps and agreeing on a clear plan, then combine content revision with active practice using past-paper questions, source analysis, essay planning or data interpretation, depending on the task. I teach students how to break down questions, use IB command terms, organise their reasoning and apply assessment criteria rather than simply memorising model answers. For Internal Assessments, Extended Essays and coursework, I provide detailed guidance on research questions, structure, evidence, analysis and revision while ensuring the work remains genuinely the student’s own. My feedback is specific and practical, helping students understand where marks are gained or lost, what to improve next and how to become more confident, independent learners.
