Teaching means passing on knowledge, but also learning to see the world differently. Method: with rigor and curiosity.

About

My path doesn't quite fit into a single box, and that is probably what shapes the way I teach today.

I studied economics, mathematics and finance, worked for several years in market finance, created and ran my own businesses, lived and worked in several countries, and managed an international team. But alongside all of this, teaching and sharing knowledge have always been part of my life.

From high school onward, I gave lessons within community associations. During my studies, I worked for several years at a school in Paris as a teaching assistant, eventually regularly standing in for the pastoral care coordinator (CPE) and substituting for absent teachers. I also provided academic support, taught English at the French-Mexican Lycée in Mexico City, gave language lessons during my travels, and took part in various educational projects in Latin America and Central America.

Today, I am fully devoted to teaching, particularly history and French, while continuing my work in writing and journalism.

History is probably the subject I am most passionate about. I love it somewhat like one loves a great novel: for its characters, its destinies, its upheavals, its greatness and its tragedies, but above all because it gives meaning to what surrounds us. It allows us to understand societies, ideas, cultures and people, and to look at the present with a different perspective.

It is also through history that my attachment to France was built. The more I discover its past, its writers, its debates, its revolutions and the women and men who shaped it, the more I realize everything that this history continues to tell us today. That is probably why I love passing on this subject so much: it is never just a matter of dates to memorize. It opens doors.

I owe this passion in large part to a teacher I had in high school. He left an indelible mark on me. I still remember the way he told history, brought events to life, and made us understand that behind a date or a textbook chapter, there were women, men, ideas and entire worlds.

I obviously do not claim to teach the way he did. But if I ever manage to pass on to a student even a small part of what he awakened in me, that curiosity, that desire to understand and go further, I believe that will be one of my greatest achievements.

Teaching experience

10+ years of teaching

To young people and not so young. To native speakers as well as learners. In France as abroad. In person as well as online. For the pleasure of learning French or for professional necessity.

I currently teach French online to students of different ages as well as to adults and professionals. I have also taught English at the French-Mexican Lycée in Mexico City and have, for several years, supported children and teenagers through academic support and educational supervision. I place particular importance on quality of expression, vocabulary, text comprehension and confidence in both speaking and writing.

Teaching methods

I always start from the student: from what they already know, what they haven't yet understood, and above all how they learn best. A notion that seems obvious to the teacher is not necessarily obvious to the student; my role is therefore to find the path that will make it clear.

My background in economics, finance and mathematics taught me rigor and reasoning. My experience in teaching and academic support taught me something else, just as important: how to explain, rephrase, encourage and adapt.

I also like to connect knowledge to concrete examples and give meaning to what is being studied. The goal is not only for the student to succeed on the next test, but for them to gradually learn how to work independently and regain confidence in their own abilities.
