Mathematics Teacher in Kuala Lumpur. Engineering background, making ideas connect to the real world.
About
I worked as a secondary mathematics teacher at Reigate Grammar School in Kuala Lumpur, a top private international school. I taught mathematics to Year 8, 10, and 11, and A-Levels in Year 12, with the ability to teach students at any secondary level. I completed my teaching practicum between January and June 2026 with direct mentorship from the Head of the Cambridge School of Sunway International School in Subang Jaya. I taught Cambridge IGCSE Mathematics (Year 10 Core and Extended), using effective classroom management, extensive formative and summative assessments, and strong content knowledge to deliver high-quality math instruction. Mentored and completed a case study on a gifted special-needs student who received targeted intervention. Proposed an entrepreneurship extra-curricular club to the head of school, which was approved for future use.
In January 2019 through December 2019, at the University of Houston, I led a classroom of 14 college-level students learning Calculus. Fostered an inclusive learning environment where students reviewed, solved, and presented examples of high-level calculus problems. Created a student-centered learning environment and fostered teamwork by assigning pairs and groups. Developed assignments and proctored quizzes. Utilized group-based learning practices. Students received university credits.
In 2018, at the University of Houston, I led a classroom of 16 first-year university students learning physics. Created daily assignments and weekly quizzes for students to strengthen their university physics skills. Provided a student-centered learning environment, fostering teamwork by assigning pairs and groups. Maintained student performance records to support university credit.
I was an oil and gas processing facilities engineer from 2010 - 2024 on construction projects ranging from $1MM - $130MM in size.
