About

I have specialized in online IB private tutoring for over five years. During this time, I have had the opportunity to work with students from diverse cultural backgrounds who study at prestigious schools around the world. In addition to my academic achievements in IB Mathematics AA HL, IB Physics HL, and ToK, I took my experience to the next level by conducting a Python-based research project in computational physics with Prof. Andy Haas, a physics professor at New York University.

I demonstrated outstanding performance in a class of 150 students and served as a teaching assistant for the Electricity and Magnetism course taught by Prof. Ahmet Nihat Berker, a former MIT physics professor. In addition, I worked on an Ansys Maxwell-based electromagnetic simulation research project with Prof. Cengiz Polat Uzunoğlu, a professor in the Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa, one of Turkey’s leading universities. Following a careful evaluation by the Vice Dean of Yıldız Technical University, I was invited to join the university’s electrical and electronics research and competition teams.

These experiences enabled me to become a member of the Turkish Physical Society and to be accepted into the Türkiye Technology Foundation Scholarship Program, one of Turkey’s prominent engineering scholarship programs, for two consecutive years.

To stay up to date with the IB curriculum, I analyze past examination papers every year and develop effective, exam-focused study strategies. To provide them with additional resources, I share my own detailed revision notes for each topic, IA/EE writing guides, as well as my own IA, EE, TOK Essay, and TOK Exhibition submissions, all of which received a score of 7. I also work through these materials with my students through detailed analysis.

I stand out for my ability to simplify complex topics, provide clear and exam-oriented explanations, and maintain a supportive approach throughout my lessons.

Teaching experience

3 to 5 years of teaching

I have over five years of private tutoring experience and have worked with 200+ students through UK-based TutorChase, Australia-based Top IB Tutors, Turkey-based Mentör Özel Ders, and currently Veritas Academy, one of Turkey’s leading and most prestigious private tutoring and academic consulting institutions.

I have taught students entirely in English from countries including the United States, China, Japan, Australia, and Switzerland, as well as students from leading schools in Turkey such as Üsküdar American Academy and Şişli Terakki High School.

My IELTS teaching experience focuses on developing students’ proficiency across all four skills: Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking. I support students in understanding the IELTS assessment criteria, identifying their individual strengths and weaknesses, and developing targeted strategies to improve their performance. My lessons include academic vocabulary development, reading and listening strategies, essay structure and coherence, grammatical accuracy, speaking fluency, pronunciation, and effective time management.

I currently teach English face-to-face at Veritas Academy and work with students at different proficiency levels and with different IELTS goals. My approach combines structured skill development with targeted exam practice, detailed feedback, and error analysis, helping students build both their overall English proficiency and the specific skills required to perform effectively in the IELTS examination.

Teaching methods

Our lessons consist of two main components. In the first part, I begin by presenting a brief review of the topic in a clear and accessible way, using real-life examples to spark curiosity and allow students to naturally develop questions. I then actively encourage students to ask these questions.

To address them in depth, we move into a more detailed exploration of the topic. Through exam-focused explanations and problem-solving sessions, I familiarize students with different question types and train them strategically to help them achieve a 7.

Additionally, having had the opportunity to work with students diagnosed with ADHD, I effectively use my tone of voice, humor, and gestures to maintain student engagement and focus throughout the lesson.
