Over the years, I have become a very patient and empathic teacher who always has my students best interest in mind. Professionally, I believe in teaching to understand rather than memorize as it is very difficult to experience success on an examination if students cannot grasp why they are completing certain steps of a mathematical solution. I generally have at least two drastically different techniques on how to introduce a mathematical concept. When I'm not teaching IB Mathematics, I can be found playing my favorite sports, football, hockey and golf. More recently, I have become a world traveler and absolutely adored Italy.

I have been teaching IB Mathematics for 17 years now and have tutored over one-hundred students on the side in all levels of math. More specifically, I have taught Math SL and am currently trained in the new analysis and approaches curriculum. I have recently become an IB examiner as well. During my tutoring sessions, I always review the concepts we studied in the previous session to reinforce and confirm the level of understanding as the majority of mathematical ideas build upon one another. I can be proud to say that I've never lost a client as a poor fit and many of my students continue on with me year after year until graduation.

One of my main goals is to instill confidence in students as I believe if someone believes they will succeed, they will succeed. I really want the mathematics to make logical sense to each student I tutor so they can still solve problems from topics they learned weeks and months later. I also try and incorporate students' individual interests into application type word problems so they can see how it can be used in the real world.
