Teacher of French as a foreign language for 25 years, based in Tokyo for over 30 years. I started in France before moving to Japan.
Currently under contract with EF Education First and the Lingoda platform, I teach exclusively individual online lessons, to adults and to students in a French as a language of schooling context.
Academic background: DEA in cognitive ergonomics, Master's degree (Master 2) in multimedia educational engineering, training in FLE didactics (AFLE), training in web technologies.
My approach is structured and documented: each student has an online revision space with their materials, notes and personalized quizzes, which I design myself.

Current tutoring of a Finnish student who has been living in Paris for 3 years, B1 level orally but poorly assimilated grammatical basics (unconjugated verbs, tense confusions). Individual 15-hour course tailored from a precise diagnosis of her errors, to consolidate the fundamentals before moving back towards a solid B1.
For parents: I teach you a simple, repeatable method, not a complicated tool to maintain. With your phone, you take a photo of your child's lesson or notes, then ask the AI to prepare for any school deadline (quiz, test, presentation, homework) by generating questions that force real understanding of the subject, not just memorization. I also show you how to keep all this in a single space that tracks your child's progress over time, subject by subject, which you can enrich with their actual results to refine the next preparation. The goal is for you to be able to do it yourself, without depending on me every time.
For the student: I teach how to use AI to go beyond pure memorization, self-assess on their lesson, answer questions that force real understanding, organize revisions over time rather than at the last minute. The goal is autonomy, never doing the work in their place.
I use artificial intelligence exactly as I teach parents to do for study skills: starting from your child's lesson or notes, I generate questions that check real understanding, not just memorization. With my own language students, this diagnostic rigor is already part of my usual method. For homework help, I apply it directly myself: I don't just check that the homework is done, I check that it is understood, and I go back over what is not yet understood.
Teaching methods
I build each learning journey around the student's real goal: progressing in the language, checking that a lesson is truly understood, or learning how to revise effectively. For French, my approach is action oriented: we speak, produce, solve problems, and I design the tracking tools myself (quizzes, sheets) for each student. For homework help and study skills, I rely on the same principles (real assessment, tracking over time, spaced repetition), passed on directly to the student or parent depending on the case, so that they become autonomous rather than dependent on a tool that I would maintain in their place.
Each student has a dedicated Google Drive space where materials, structured notes and quizzes are recorded, to track progress over time.
I work exclusively in individual lessons, with teenagers and adults, which allows me to adapt pace and level in real time.
