IB Computer Science examiner · IGCSE, A-level & IB tutor · 27 years of teaching experience
About
I help students make sense of Computer Science, build confidence in programming and approach examinations with a clearer understanding of the subject. I bring 27 years of teaching experience, including work in international schools, and experience as an IBDP and Cambridge Computer Science examiner. I hold a BSc and teach IGCSE, A-level and IB Computer Science.
My tuition is tailored to each student’s starting point, course and goals. Some learners need to strengthen their understanding of theory; others want help applying ideas in code or explaining their reasoning clearly. I connect complex concepts to real-world examples and practical tasks so that students understand both how something works and why it matters.
Whether a student needs ongoing support or focused examination preparation, my aim is to develop secure understanding, independent problem-solving and lasting confidence. Lessons are adapted to the learner’s pace, prior knowledge and schedule.

Teaching experience
10+ years of teaching
Computer science
I have 27 years of experience teaching Computer Science, including in international schools, across the IGCSE, A-level and IB Diploma curricula. I teach IB Computer Science at Higher and Standard Level, supporting students with subject knowledge, programming, problem-solving and preparation for their final examinations.
My experience as an IB and Cambridge Computer Science examiner helps me explain assessment expectations clearly and help students develop precise, well-reasoned answers. I work with learners with different levels of prior knowledge, adapting support to their course, current understanding and goals.
Teaching methods
I adapt lessons to the student’s course, current understanding and goals, combining clear explanations with practical application. Complex ideas are broken into manageable steps and connected to real-world examples. Students apply what they learn through programming, problem-solving and discussion of their reasoning.
The balance of theory, coding and examination practice depends on the learner’s needs. I use my Computer Science examining experience to help students understand what a question asks and communicate their answers clearly.
My aim is to build understanding and independence, with a pace and level of challenge suited to the individual student.
