Teaching experience
About 4 years of teaching experience now.
I started off when I was 15. Part of my Church of England high school curriculum was community service. We would serve in soup kitchens, help hold activities, act as classroom assistants, or tutor for at least 5 hours a week. I did a lot of teaching assistant and tutoring roles during that time and also helped make and grade papers for younger year students. I found it very enjoyable and decided to take up work as a tutor at a company.
Learning Labs Ltd in London was my first part time tutoring job. I took responsibilities for a couple group classes, and even more 1 to 1 classes. They were all in persons and material was prepared for us in advance. We taught the topic (for example addition of fractions) and sample questions were provided.
When I got into University, I continued tutoring. I did almost 20 hours of part time work alongside my degree. Tutoring in a private company at University was different. We had complete control over everything. Lesson plans, Parent - Teacher meetings, exam practice, and even finding good textbooks and making questions on the spot. I would say that this experience is what made me a more holistic and well rounded tutor.
Now I'm moving to Munich to continue my aerospace degree and career. I still want to tutor because it's a very enjoyable job, and it's very satisfying for me.
Teaching methods
Online:
Google Classroom has worked quite well for me so far. For Online Classes, you will have a personalised google classroom where google meet, resources, and additional announcements will be made.
Resources such as topic slides, exam practice, answer keys, and practice sheets will all be sectioned off by topic and uploaded.
Additionally, The Google Classroom allows for class recordings so in case you think you missed something, or didn't understand a topic. It's all there for you to look over again. It also allows for instant doubt clarification outside of lesson during the week. If you ever have any questions, shoot a message on the google classroom
In - home:
Physical notebooks + notetaking is still unbeaten. I will bring all the required material for the lesson, beit textbooks, practice sheets, or exam practice papers. In this case I will bring a folder for us to organise and section off lessons by topic.
A plus point for in - home over online is that I can better prepare for exam practice this way. I can go into more detail on how exams should be attempted, and what kind of exam techniques might work better.
My approach for lessons is holistic. I know your strengths, your areas of improvements, and your style of learning. My teaching will seem like a conversation, more than classical teaching.
If you want tailored teaching, with constant updates, communication, and feedback on performance, I'm the person for you.
Your goal is to put in the effort of paying attention in class. That is all I ask for. The rest, you can leave up to me.
I've taught several students the entire IB / A Level Curriculum for a subject in a year. Trust me, these concepts are not hard beyond understanding. They are tricky and require various approaches, but they aren't impossible. If you give me your attention, and patience for just an hour. I assure you that you will understand and get feel like an expert in no time.
Learning content, and giving an exam are 2 different things. With my teaching, be assured that exam practice will be emphasised to ensure you get the grades need. A good tutor not only teaches you the content in the exam, but how to give an exam.

Getting to know him
Three words. Hiking, Sports, and Carving.
I. Love. Hiking. It is so fun to just switch your brain off from the world for a few days and walk around a mountain with amazing views. Sure, the weather is full of surprises, and the bugs are annoying. But it really is something else. I've always been a city person until I went on my first hike. Now I make sure that I have at least a couple hikes in every year. The Alps is what I'm looking forward to in Munich.
Volleyball is my favorite sport by far. You can play it anywhere, with however much intensity you want. Super sweaty and tough session or even a calm light session. It's always fun. Beach volleyball is a bit more fun because the ground is forgiving but I don't mind.
Recently I've gotten into wood carving. I think it's because I broke my guitar a couple weeks back and haven't got the money or the time to find and buy a new one I would like. So instead I decided to carve wood to pass some time. A little fox here, maybe a little duck there. It's always fun to carve something while watching a movie.
My favorite movie growing up was the Martian. Yeah I was a boring science kid, don't judge me.
"At some point, everything's gonna go south on you... You do the math. You solve one problem... and you solve the next one... And If you solve enough problems, you get to come home."
It really says a lot. There's always something happening. A lot of people can relate to that. But as long as you just solve one problem at a time, keep your head low and just work through it. Then yeah, you will come home. You will accomplish what you set out to be. It's never easy looking at a big problem, it's always easier to look at smaller problems one at a time.
It's part of my teaching philosophy as well. Doing an exam is tough. But doing small problems one at a time for an hour, isn't that bad.
