M.Ed Nottingham, English & Academic Writing Specialist, SEN Expert, GCSE/A Level Tutor, Teacher Trainer
About
I am an experienced educator with over a decade of teaching across GCSE, A Level, and university programmes, specialising in English language, academic writing, and exam preparation. I hold an M.Ed from the University of Nottingham, with a focus on Special Needs Education, and I am particularly passionate about supporting students with diverse learning needs to build confidence and independence in their learning.
Alongside my teaching, I work as a teacher trainer and lead an education initiative focused on English language development and professional learning for educators. I enjoy designing structured, engaging lessons that help students strengthen their critical thinking, writing, and communication skills.
Outside the classroom, I am deeply interested in education, student wellbeing, and creative learning approaches. I value building strong, supportive relationships with my students and aim to create a calm, encouraging environment where they feel comfortable to ask questions, take risks, and grow.

Teaching experience
I have over a decade of teaching experience across leading schools and universities, including Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture and the Institute of Business Administration. I have taught English language, academic writing, sociology, and research methodology at GCSE, A Level, and undergraduate levels, with a strong focus on exam preparation and skill development.
In addition to classroom teaching, I have worked as a teacher trainer with Oxford University Press Pakistan, delivering professional development in areas such as English language teaching, student wellbeing, and differentiated instruction. I also lead an education initiative providing English enrichment programmes and training for educators.
My experience spans both high-achieving students and those requiring additional academic support, including SEN-informed teaching approaches, allowing me to adapt effectively to a wide range of learning needs and goals.
Teaching methods
I am an M.Ed-qualified educator (University of Nottingham) with over ten years of experience teaching English language, academic writing, and exam preparation to GCSE, A Level, and university students. I work with a wide range of learners, including those preparing for high-stakes exams as well as students who benefit from structured, SEN-informed support.
My lessons are highly structured and tailored to each student’s needs. I typically begin with a short diagnostic or review, followed by focused skill-building (e.g. essay structure, comprehension, exam technique), guided practice, and independent application. I place strong emphasis on clarity of thought, writing organisation, and critical thinking, while continuously adapting pace and approach based on the student’s progress.
As a tutor, I am patient, encouraging, and methodical. I aim to build both competence and confidence, creating a supportive environment where students feel comfortable to engage, ask questions, and develop independent learning skills.
