Experienced IB Tutor & Psychology Graduate | Specialising in Grades 1–8, ADHD & Dyslexia Support
About
I am a dedicated IB tutor with years of in-person experience teaching Grades 1 to 8 across all core subjects. As a psychology graduate, I bring a strong understanding of how children learn, specialising in supporting students with ADHD, dyslexia, and other learning needs. I combine academic guidance with patience, encouragement, and personalised strategies to help each student thrive. In addition to tutoring, I am a skilled copywriter and creative bilingual content writer (English & Arabic), which allows me to make lessons engaging, clear, and culturally relevant for diverse learners. Passionate about educational psychology and innovative teaching methods, I aim to inspire curiosity, build confidence, and equip students with lifelong learning skills.

Teaching experience
For the past four years, I have tutored IB students in Individuals & Societies (I&S), Sciences, Mathematics, English, and Arabic Literature, with a strong focus on the Primary Years Programme (PYP) and Middle Years Programme (MYP). I specialise in preparing students for IB assessments by teaching them essential skills such as critical thinking, inquiry-based learning, research and referencing, exam technique, and time management.
My approach is aligned with IB philosophy — fostering independent learning, global-mindedness, and the ability to connect concepts across subjects. I guide students in developing strong ATL skills (Approaches to Learning), including communication, collaboration, self-management, and reflection, which are vital for success in both coursework and exams.
Teaching methods
My teaching blends research-backed strategies with a personalised approach, ensuring that each student receives the kind of support that works best for them.
I use evidence-based techniques such as scaffolding (gradually increasing task difficulty to build mastery), retrieval practice (strengthening memory through active recall), and spaced repetition (reviewing material at strategic intervals). These methods are proven to improve long-term retention and understanding. I also incorporate multi-sensory learning — combining visual, auditory, and hands-on activities — to help concepts stick for all types of learners.
While my lesson structure generally follows a clear pattern — a quick review of previous work, targeted teaching of new material, active practice, and a short recap — I adapt the pace, tools, and examples to suit each student’s personality, interests, and learning style.
As a young tutor from this generation, I connect naturally with students, speaking their “language” and integrating relatable, modern examples into lessons. My background in psychology allows me to understand their motivations, mindset, and challenges. My goal is not only to improve grades but also to make students feel confident, capable, and excited about learning.
