Expert IB Physics guidance from an experienced international educator Current IB Physics teacher and senior school leader with 30 years of international teaching experience, specialising in IB Physics SL/HL, exam preparation, and helping students achieve their highest academic potential.
About
I am an experienced Physics educator with 30 years of teaching experience across UK and international schools. I currently teach IB Diploma Physics and hold a senior leadership position within an international school, where I combine classroom teaching with educational leadership, student support, and whole-school improvement initiatives.
Throughout my career, I have taught students across a wide range of ages, from Middle School learners developing their scientific foundations to senior students preparing for GCSE, International GCSE, A Level, and IB Diploma examinations. My leadership experience as Head of Science and Assistant Principal has given me extensive experience in mentoring students, supporting young adults, developing academic and pastoral systems, and helping learners build the confidence and skills needed for success.
I am passionate about Physics and Science education at all levels and equally enjoy supporting students through GCSE Science, GCSE Physics, A Level Physics, and IB Physics programmes. I believe successful Physics students need more than knowledge recall; they need conceptual understanding, confidence, effective problem-solving strategies, and the ability to apply ideas to unfamiliar situations.
My teaching approach focuses on clear explanations, targeted questioning, real-world applications, and personalised support to identify misconceptions and build lasting understanding. Having worked with students from diverse international backgrounds, I understand that every learner has different strengths, challenges, and goals. I adapt my teaching to meet individual needs and enjoy helping students become independent, confident learners who are able to achieve their academic ambitions.
