Former khâgne student (literary preparatory classes), holder of a highly selective double master's degree from the Sorbonne, offering preparation for the French and philosophy baccalauréat exams

About

Hello,

I am a former student of the literary preparatory classes (khâgne). I then spent a year following a translation program, before joining the Magistère in International Relations at Université Paris I Sorbonne, the equivalent of a highly selective double master's degree in International Relations and History. After a gap year in Lebanon, I wrote a graduation thesis combining comparative literature, political geography, philosophy and history, for which I received the jury's congratulations.

Teaching experience

Currently a teacher of history, geography and civic education (EMC) as well as French literature at the Lycée français Charles de Gaulle in London, I have been teaching as a private tutor in humanities for over 7 years.

I first taught French, English and German in several countries, alongside the beginning of a career in diplomacy.
For about 3 years now, I have focused on preparing students for the French and philosophy baccalauréat exams, as well as for entrance exams and competitive exams (Sciences Po, selective Master's programs, INSP...).

I have also taught French at a FLAM school and have prepared students for the DELF and the GCSE.

Teaching methods

My teaching approach relies as much on transmitting knowledge as on transmitting methods.

Content is essential, but the core of my lessons is teaching students how to learn, think and build rigorous, independent thinking. I therefore teach methods for essay writing, text analysis, memorization and work organization, in order to give students lasting tools that they can use well beyond an exam. My approach combines intellectual rigor with kindness. I believe in a structured, ambitious and rigorous pedagogy, but also a humane one that respects different paces and ways of learning.
