Accomplished math tutor - IBDP, AS-A level, GCSE-IGCSE, American math, AP math courses.

About

Education :
Bachelor of Engineering, Electrical and Electronics, VTU India 2006-2010

I firmly believe that an online tutor must also wear the hat of a mentor. I have a lot of patience and ensure that the student understands the concept thoroughly before moving further. I follow a Socratic and Engagement method of teaching, where I ask the students leading questions so that the students themselves may hit upon the answer.
My greatest skill is in teaching any concept in the most logical and the most easily understandable way.
I taught American curricula math online for a year during college. After about 4 years of IT, I realized that my true calling was in teaching.
I worked with a bunch of tutoring organizations based in India and the US from 2014-2018. Since then, I have been an independent private tutor for any level of math upto and including undergrad math.
In these last 4 years, I have taught a lot of IBDP math(SL and HL for both AA and AI), GCSE, IGCSE, AS-A level math, American Common Core math(Prealgebra all the way till Multivariable Calculus) and Australian math(mainly HSC, VCE and Specialist and Methods math)

Teaching methods

I adapt my teaching to suit auditory, visual, and kinesthetic learners, using a Socratic, engagement-driven approach that fosters critical thinking and encourages active participation. This personalized and dynamic teaching style has helped many students achieve significant academic progress, often improving their grades by at least two levels within a relatively short period.

Examples

1. Supporting a student with dyscalculia

I worked with a student from Switzerland who had severe dyscalculia and required considerable patience and individualized support. To build trust and engagement, I allowed him time during lessons to talk about his interests, his day, and other topics important to him. This helped him open up and gradually develop a positive attitude toward mathematics during our one- to two-hour sessions. Over time, he became more interested and confident in the subject, improving his grade from a 2 to a 4. As a result, he became eligible to take Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches (AA) SL the following year at his school.

2. Guiding a large IBDP cohort

I supported my largest-ever cohort of International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) students through their May 2026 examinations. As part of this process, I created comprehensive notes and learning resources, provided targeted academic support, and helped students prepare effectively for their exams.
